Sarah and Victor are the parents to two young boys. Sarah was fortunate to receive an education growing up, which took her all the way through school and to university where she studied to be a teacher. She now works as a teacher with childen who have special needs. Victor is an electrician (currently layed off) , but takes care of the their children throughout the day.

Their old home was not very secure, and had been broken into before as the walls and doors were especially in need of repair. Also, their roof was damanged, and it leaked whenever it rained, and they had to cover up their belongings so they didn’t get ruined. Many members of Sarah and Victor’s families live nearby, and they feel very comfortable in this community.

Their new home has made a huge difference for them. With a lock on the door, and a solid roof over their heads they are now safe and dry.

Thanks to the Riley and Forestburg schools in Alberta who worked alongside the family and community to build this home.

Live Different chooses to employ and work alongside local labourers and tradespeople in communities where we have established connections and relationships. No family is ever simply a “project” for us, and each family is chosen and approved through a process with local community workers. Each home is one that will be built with love, hope, and dignity – together.
