Uniting hearts and minds at the Samantha Mason Foundation Butterfly Ball
In a remarkable display of generosity and unity, our community gathered at the Samantha Mason Foundation Butterfly Ball to raise crucial funds to support LiveDifferent’s Canadian Youth Fund and the Toba Centre. A total of $100,000 was generously raised and donated to support LiveDifferent’s mental wellness programming.
The heart and soul behind the Samantha Mason Foundation is rooted in the love and remembrance of Brad and Judy-Lynn Mason, who, after the tragic loss of their daughter Samantha, sought to honour her memory by helping others facing similar struggles. Their unwavering commitment to supporting those struggling with mental health and depression has sparked a powerful movement, touching countless lives and fostering a sense of togetherness.
Through the collaboration of ServcoCanada and the Samantha Mason Foundation, over $1.5 million in grants and scholarships has been raised for Indigenous youth to receive life-promotion programming and experiential leadership opportunities. In memory of Samantha, whose kindness, gentleness and love touched the hearts of many, the Foundation has become a catalyst for change, offering support and intervention to youth in need.
The Butterfly Ball underscored the significance of authenticity and vulnerability, reminding us of the power that lies within embracing our brokenness and supporting one another. By cultivating brave spaces and fostering open conversations about fears and challenges, we can foster genuine connections and understanding. It is through these authentic connections that we can create a more compassionate and kind world.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this event and to the Servco and the Samantha Mason Foundation. By investing in youth, we alter their stories and enable them to chart a different course, one that is filled with hope, healing and resilience.
