ThriveTogether: Building Better Lives, Together.

Helping others has always been something that has been important to both of us. We’re Darya Kompani and Nicolas Sanchez, and when our school introduced us to LiveDifferent and the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic to help build a home for a family in need, we immediately knew we wanted to be part of it. We were excited about the opportunity to help, but what we experienced was so much more meaningful than anything we could have imagined. We got to connect with the family, learn about their lives, and see firsthand how much having a safe home can impact a person’s well-being. Neither of us expected the experience to have such a lasting impact on us, but it completely changed the way we thought about health, wellness, and helping others.

When we came home, we knew we wanted to continue that feeling of making a difference, which is what inspired us to create ThriveTogether. We wanted to find a way to help other young people prioritize their own well-being by making information about physical, mental, and overall wellness more accessible. Through ThriveTogether, we share advice and perspectives from professionals through interviews and social media, covering different aspects of wellness such as movement, nutrition, rest, mental health, and more. We also hope to make this information accessible to as many people as possible, including through different languages.

Most importantly, our experience with LiveDifferent taught us that wellness goes beyond simply being active or eating well. While those things are important, having a safe and stable home is one of the most basic foundations of a healthy life. Because of this, all of the money we raise through ThriveTogether, including donations and fundraising, will go toward supporting LiveDifferent and helping families in need. We hope ThriveTogether can inspire other young people to prioritize their well-being while also finding their own ways to make a difference in the lives of others.
