amie.jpgAmie Medeiros has been a part of the LiveDifferent (formerly Absolute) family since 2002. During her time working in our office, she has worn many hats: bookkeeper, office manager, volunteer coordinator, student relations and many more. Amie now lives in Brampton, Ontario, and is a mom to two incredible kids, Jessica and James.

Amie is a working single mother, a full time student at Sheridan College in the Community Worker Program, a blogger and highly valued friend to everyone she comes into contact with. She is into reading, arts, music and shopping and has recently started ‘dabbling’ in graphic design and poetry writing – even participating in an art show! Amie believes in being a positive voice to young Canadian women about their true beauty and about true self worth. Her blog is http://beautyoftheunique.webs.com.I believe in LiveDifferent (formerly Absolute) simply because of my personal experience. I have worked in many different departments and even had the privilege of participating on the very first Hero Holiday trip to the Dominican Republic. I know that the organization and the individuals within are passionate about what they do and truly want to make a difference in the world. I see the results of their hard work and it is rewarding.Because I can no longer physically participate in realizing their goals, I now choose to donate monthly because I believe in what LiveDifferent (formerly Absolute) does and still want to partner with them.I would definitely encourage someone to get involved because this is an organization that works hard, gets results, and changes lives. It’s not just about building the homes and providing needed supplies to those less fortunate, but it is also about change in the lives of those who participae in Hero Holiday and those who have the privilege of watching the school assembly. They grow as people as they are challenged and changed. What LiveDifferent (formerly Absolute) does is rewarding on so many levels and I have seen what kind of amazing things can happen when they put their energy and heart into seeing lives changed, people helped, lasting relationships established, and justice and truth are honored.
